The delegation of the Commission participated in the seminar of the International Monetary Fund in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In order to participate in the seminar titled “Confronting Macro-Critical Corruption,” organized collaboratively by the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia Regional Capacity Development Center (CCAMTAC) and the IMF’s Legal Department, Tabriz Musayev, the Secretary of the Anti-Corruption Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Commission), along with Bayram Orujov, Advisor of the Commission's Secretariat, undertook an official mission to Almaty, Kazakhstan, on 20-25 October 2024.

The CCAMTAC member countries of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Armenia participated in the seminar, while Turkmenistan was not represented.

The Azerbaijani delegation comprised the Commission's aforementioned representatives, and Israyil Imamli, Head of the Service Investigation Sector of the Internal Control Department at the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.

Strategic approaches to combating corruption, regulatory frameworks for anti-corruption tools, and the operational guidelines of institutional structures were discussed in the seminar.

The presentations of IMF experts covered the implementation of strategic approaches in organizing anti-corruption efforts, the prioritization of the fight against corruption, the essential institutions necessary for effective anti-corruption initiatives, and the legal acts and their application that regulate anti-corruption measures.

Additionally, successful anti-corruption practices were reviewed within the seminar's framework.

The Azerbaijani delegation introduced participants to the ASAN Service model, which has proven effective in corruption prevention and has been adopted by several foreign countries.

Delegates were also informed about recent legislative reforms in Azerbaijan aimed at strengthening anti-corruption efforts, particularly in enhancing the independence of the judiciary.

The Secretariat of the Commission will take the necessary steps to apply the insights gained from this seminar in its ongoing work.
