Work done on the implementation of the National Action Plan and discussion of the new project

A meeting was held with the participation of non-governmental organizations and representatives of civil society institutions to discuss the implementation of the "National Action Plan for the Promotion of Open Government for 2020-2022" during 2020 and the draft "National Action Plan for Strengthening the Fight Against Corruption for 2021-2025."
The discussions took place on July 1, 2021, at the Main Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General's Office, with the participation of the Secretary of the Anti-Corruption Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, employees of the Main Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Justice, and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
During the event, it was emphasized that reforms aimed at improving the quality of public services provided to the population, increasing transparency and accountability, strengthening public oversight, and expanding public participation in the country were being successfully and continuously implemented. Information was provided about the work carried out in 2020 regarding the implementation of the "National Action Plan for the Promotion of Open Government for 2020-2022." Additionally, the active participation of non-governmental organization representatives in drafting the "National Action Plan for Strengthening the Fight Against Corruption for 2021-2025" was highlighted as important.
In the general discussion, considering the role of civil society institutions in ensuring financial transparency, preventing corruption, and public life, there was an extensive exchange of views on the draft "National Action Plan for Strengthening the Fight Against Corruption for 2021-2025." Initial verbal proposals from non-governmental organization representatives were heard, the issues arising from these proposals were discussed, and they were asked to submit their proposals in writing.
It was also noted that it is important and appropriate to continue holding meetings with the participation of non-governmental organizations and representatives of civil society institutions in the future to discuss the mentioned draft.
